Questions About Reiki?
-
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive practice that originated in Japan and involves a trained practitioner directing Reiki energy through light touch or without physical contact. During your session, you can relax comfortably while Reiki is provided. There is no particular experience you are expected to have, and each person may experience Reiki differently. Some people describe feeling relaxed or calm, while others may notice physical sensations, changes in energy, or very little at all.
-
Distance Reiki allows Reiki to be provided without the practitioner and client being in the same physical location. Magnolia Moon offers distance Reiki through either a live video session or a session completed remotely with a scheduled follow-up. This allows you to receive Reiki from a comfortable location without traveling for your appointment.
-
During a Live Video Reiki Session, we remain connected through Zoom throughout your appointment. We begin with a brief conversation to discuss your goals and any questions you may have. You remain connected while Reiki is provided, and we take time afterward to discuss your experience.
With Distance Reiki with Follow-Up, you do not need to be available while Reiki is being provided. Your Reiki session is completed remotely before your scheduled follow-up appointment. At your scheduled time, we connect by phone or Zoom to discuss your experience and answer any questions.
-
Choose a comfortable, quiet space where you can relax with minimal interruptions. Wear comfortable clothing and consider silencing your phone, television, or other distractions during your session. There is no special preparation required, and you do not need to meditate or follow a particular practice to receive Reiki.
-
There is no required schedule for receiving Reiki. Some people choose occasional sessions, while others incorporate Reiki into a regular wellness routine. The frequency of your sessions can be based on your individual goals, preferences, and schedule.
-
Experiences with Reiki vary from person to person and may also vary from one session to another. Some people describe warmth, tingling, relaxation, emotional responses, or changes in how they perceive energy. Others may notice very little during the session. There is no particular sensation or experience you are expected to have.
-
No. Reiki is a complementary wellness practice and is not a substitute for medical care, mental health treatment, or professional healthcare advice. Reiki is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent medical or mental health conditions. You should continue working with your healthcare providers and follow the treatment plans and recommendations they provide.
